Buying Electronic Components in the UK
Just thought I’d share a few of the sources I have been using for components. All comments are correct as of 16 September 2011.
My current preferred suppliers are BitsBox and Proto-Pic.
Bitsbox
Bitsbox have a limited range of components, delivery is £1.50 and the parts on offer cover most of what I need at the moment. Have placed several orders with them now (ordered before 1pm) they all turned up within 24 hours.

ESR
Used these once for a power supply. Did what it said on the tin.
RS Components
RS have a wide range of components but they are not the cheapest out there. I had one of my orders turn up in five different deliveries which considering there was only 8 parts in the order was an achievement.
Proto-Pic
Used this company several times for boards, shields etc. They also stock some components not held by BitsBox.
SK Pang
Wide range of microcontroller boards and sensors. I have however found Bitsbox cheaper for components.
